CT 81st NHS AFJROTC
Our Corps
We are a corps with a proud and long history. Connecticut 81st began in the eighties and while we once were a corps focused on drill.
Today, we are all about community service. Our cadets volunteer at more than 38 events every year.
The cadets of CT-81 live and breathe the core values of: Integrity First...Service Before Self...Excellence in All We Do!
Our corps is led by our Cadet Commander, C/Major Camilo Builes and Director of Operations C/Capt Andrew Huzina.
This year's corps is one of the strongest in recent years with 118 cadets, the most of all Connecticut AFJROTC Corps.
Unit Goals for 2015-2016 School Year
· 70% of cadets will earn an "A" in AFJROT
· Each flight will complete "30 Drill Command" routine with no
more than 6 errors
· Cadets will hold 6 recruitment events per year
· 15 cadets will attend American Legion 1st Sunday Flag Ceremony
· Cadet Corps will collect 300 "Coats & Hoodies" for the Norwalk
Shelter per year
· Corps will volunteer at least 2000 hours per school year
Cadets will hold 2 fund raisers per year
All cadets will earn a minimum of 80% on JROTC knowledge test
Our Instructors
LtCol (ret) Sonny Kim
Is the CT 81st Senior Aerospace Science instructor at Norwalk HS, Norwalk Connecticut. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years.
MSgt (ret) Don Fessenden
Is the CT 81st Aerospace Science Instructor who is entering his seventh year at Norwalk HS, Norwalk Connecticut. Don served in the Air Force for 22 years, retiring at McGuire AFB, NJ. He is certified to teach Military Studies, Health, Psychology, and Business. Sergeant Fessenden is also a Connecticut state certified Administrator.
